DAI Arts + Core Connections Workshop – The Art of Writing

Art-making workshop led by an education specialist. Students will explore artistic storytelling, writing as an artform, and the relationship between art and language.

60 minutes long. Recommended for Grades K-8.

Transportation assistance may be available depending upon your school’s eligibility.

Suggested Standards/Benchmarks:

RL 4.7- Make connections between the text of a story or drama and a visual or oral presentation of the text, identifying where each version reflects specific descriptions and directions in the text.

RL 5.7- Analyze how visual and multimedia elements contribute to the meaning, tone, mood, or appeal of a text (e.g., graphic novel, multimedia presentation of fiction, folktale, myth, poem).

6.4RE- Compare and contrast visual forms of expression found throughout local regions and in different cultures of the world.
